ADAM DIXON

THE SUSTAINABLE FARMER

“I want to make an impact on the world and the challenges we are facing. It’s been a steep learning curve but I’ve grown so much as a person doing this.”

With the world’s population expected to rise to over 8.5 billion by 2030, huge demands are going to be placed on agriculture and water supplies. But Adam Dixon, CEO of Phytoponics, is working on a radical solution using hydroponics.

“It is essentially a hydroponic grow bag. What this means for farms commercially is that they don’t need to rely on soil quality. You can grow things faster and healthier, and you can make 10 times the yield with the same land.”

It’s a method that could save an area the size of Brazil from deforestation, but it’s been life changing for Adam too – “I want to make an impact on the world and the challenges we are facing. It’s been a steep learning curve but I’ve grown so much as a person doing this.”
