“It restores your faith in humanity. We’ve met people so different to us, on the opposite side of the spectrum, and you realise that essentially, people want the same thing. Most people want to get along.”

With a lack of affordable housing across the US, the tiny house movement has seen rapid growth. But Alexis Stephens and Christian Parsons have taken the concept a step further, putting their 17ft, tiny home on a trailer and travelling 50,000 miles around America to set up community outreach projects.

Complete with a queen bed in the loft, a kitchen and a big shower, the pair have everything they need, and the fact that it’s a small space actually encourages them to get out and about.

And whilst they make their money from freelance video and photography work, they argue “to have a rich life you have to get out of your comfort zone, and this has done that for us”.
